The Scary House

Hirobumi Watanabe plays a version of himself, a once-celebrated indie director who is now broke, until a mysterious producer offers him an unusually big fee to spend a week in a house said to be haunted and film it. He claims to hate horror and to believe in nothing supernatural, but interviews with the villagers, strange noises and his own hired cameraman make the shoot more uncomfortable by the day. A deadpan Japanese horror comedy told as his mockumentary footage.
